twine makes it easy for Zoom hosts to create connection by enabling advanced breakout rooms and speed networking.

In order to install and host a meeting using twine for Zoom, your Zoom account must be setup to enable access to apps. Many large organizations have disabled Zoom apps or require that users request approval when they wish to download an app.

Do I have access to Zoom Apps?

The quickest way to check if you have access to apps is to initiate a Zoom meeting from the Zoom desktop client and check to see if you the "Apps button appears in your menu bar. This will show within a Zoom meeting and will also show within the Zoom desktop client.

If you do not see the Apps button in your Zoom desktop client or in a Zoom meeting, there are two possible causes.

"Zoom Apps Quick Launch" is not Enabled

If you do not see the Apps button in your Zoom desktop client it could be that the Zoom Apps quick launch button has not been enabled in your Zoom Settings.

Login to Zoom and enable the "Zoom Apps Quick Launch" button in your Zoom account (under Settings > Zoom Apps)

To update this setting:

  1. Log into Zoom on your browser and navigate to this page: https://zoom.us/profile/setting

  2. Click the Zoom Apps tab

  3. Toggle on the "Zoom Apps Quick Launch Button" option

Request Admin Approval

If you do not see the Zoom Apps section in your profile, or this setting is locked, it could be that your Zoom administrator has disabled Zoom Apps or requires pre-approval of Zoom apps.

This is not uncommon and the app approval process is simple. Simply navigate to our Zoom App listing here and request approval from your Zoom admin by clicking "Request to Add". This will send your Zoom admin an request in their account.

To expedite the process, you can also send your Zoom admin this support article.

So Zoom Apps is Not Enabled For Your Account...

If your Zoom admin has not enabled Zoom Apps or has not pre-approved twine for Zoom, you will not be able to use twine for Zoom with that Zoom account until your Zoom admin approves it.

In this case, we recommend creating or signing in with a personal Zoom account as personal Zoom accounts have Zoom apps enabled by default.
